Broken Faucet

I was so upset earlier because our faucet in our kitchen got broken. I don't know what really happened but i saw my son was playing the water, i was gonna give him time out but he explained his side the best that he can so he won't get time out. He told me that he was trying to wash the dishes and he twisted the faucet until it didn't work anymore. I have been telling him that it is alright for him to help but he has to do such things with me, not him alone, all by himself. Been reminding him that what if he breaks a glass or a plate and it will hurt him, or something might happen worse, i don't know what to do. I really do appreciate him for offering his hand to help me but sometimes it can be annoying that instead he is helping me, i am going to have more work to do because of him. Argghhhh, sometimes it is so frustrating, but what can i do, kids are always being kids!
